Extending as a peninsula on the south-western tip of Cebu, Moalboal is bordered to the west by the Tañon Strait. From the western shoreline, Negros Island can be seen. Moalboal is located 89 kilometres (55 mi) from Cebu City, about 2½ hours by bus.

Moalboal is between the towns of Alcantara and Badian. From the bridge located in Moalboal town can be seen the popular tourist attraction, Pescador Island.

Since the 1970s, Moalboal has developed a tourism industry based on recreational diving and beaches. Panagsama Beach is where most resorts and restaurants are established. Further north on the peninsula, in brgy Saavedra, is White Beach (Bas Dako in Visayan), a 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) beach which still has sand. This beach used to be quieter and mostly frequented by locals, and has only recently developed a tourist trade.

In Moalboal most tourists stay at either Panagsama Beach (Basdiot) or White Beach (Basdako), known for its beautiful sandy beach both located 3–5 kilometres (1.9–3.1 mi) away from the bus stop in Moalboal. It is easy to find transportation from the bus stop to either beach.

“Saint John Bosco the patron of youth”

Saint John Bosco (Italian: Giovanni Melchiorre Bosco; 16 August 1815  – 31 January 1888), popularly known as Don Bosco[ˈdɔm ˈbosko], was an Italian Roman Catholic priest, educator and writer of the 19th century. While working in Turin, where the population suffered many of the effects of industrialization and urbanization, he dedicated his life to the betterment and education ofstreet children, juvenile delinquents, and other disadvantaged youth. He developed teaching methods based on love rather than punishment, a method that became known as the Salesian Preventive System.  A follower of the spirituality and philosophy of Saint Francis de Sales, Bosco dedicated his works to him when he founded the Salesians of Don Bosco, based in Turin. Together withMaria Domenica Mazzarello, he founded the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, a religious congregation of nuns dedicated to the care and education of poor girls.

In 1876 Bosco founded a movement of laity, the Association of Salesian Cooperators, with the same educational mission to the poor.  In 1875 he began to publish the Salesian Bulletin.  The Bulletin has remained in continuous publication, and is currently published in 50 different editions and 30 languages. Bosco established a network of organizations and centres to carry on his work. Following his beatification in 1929, he was canonizedas a saint in the Roman Catholic Church by Pope Pius XI in 1934.

Sabangan Beach Resort : Your Home in Laiya, Batangas

Laiya is specifically located within San Juan, it’s a town 45 mins.-1 hr. away from Lipa. Our travel there wasn’t all smooth and comfy but it was one heck of an adventure because we got to experience the place from a local’s point-of-view. We rode a bus from Manila to Lipa Batangas, then we rode a trike to go to the jeepney terminals. From there we rode a jeep going to San Juan and from San Juan’s terminal (near Puregold) we rode another jeep to Laiya.

The resorts in Laiya, Batangas were lined up side by side and it was hard to choose the best resort to cater our needs. My friends and I specifically craved for a peaceful time on the beach. No parties, nothing fancy and just plain serenity. We just wanted a comfortable home on the beach with the waves’ crashing to the  sand as our background music. Thus, Sabangan Beach Resort came as the beach resort of our choice.

#Cebu: Caohagan Island

The year is only beginning but the summer sun is already upon us. In other parts of the country, this means spending the hot hours of the day in the shade or doing things in comfortable air-conditioned rooms. In Cebu, however, it’s an entirely different thing. Clear blue skies and calm seas can only mean one thing here — island hopping!

If you’re thinking of visiting an island in Mactan this summer, there’s one you should never dare miss. The Caohagan Island, an island which is part of the Olango Chain of Islands, is the perfect summer destination.

#Pandanon Island: A Piece of Bohol

Pandanon Island lies in between Cebu and Bohol but it is politically part of the latter. It is located east of Mactan, south of Olango Island, and north of mainland Bohol. It is just a bit over an hour away on outrigger boat from Mactan. This close proximity to Cebu makes it very accessible to tourists visiting the Queen City of the South.

Like on many other white islands in the Philippines, swimming and sunbathing are the top activities here. Its main asset really is its stretch of white sand but other than that, it’s hard to find anything else to do. There are cottages for rent (PhP 250 minimum), making it an ideal destination for family and barkada getaways. I heard visitors can also rent jet skis but I also heard the fee was steep. There’s not much to see under the waves as it’s not a big snorkeling destination, either.

But if you’re goal is to just relax, you will surely find the island pleasurable. It was not crowded at the time of our visit and we had the island to ourselves. (Actually, just one end of it because the island is home to 2000 residents.) But we were the only tourists at the time.pandanon bay

#MAINIT HOT SPRING, MALABUYOC

Malabuyoc is one of the places in Cebu Province endowed with beautiful natural wonders and resources. Among its natural wonders, there you can find the concealed but well-known Mainit Hot Spring. It is hidden mainly due to its accessibility and distance, and not everyone can visit the place without any intense desire to explore its natural attraction.

Mainit (means “hot” in Cebuano language) Hot Spring is natural and untouched (yet) by resort development projects. This hot spring, which is also close to a waterfall, springs from the interior of two mountains. Just close by, you can also discover about more than 5 waterfalls with various heights and waterfall intensity.

Mambukal Resort: The Perfect Haven for Adventurous

For those who possess the spirit of adventure, mountain resorts are favorite places to hang out and unwind. In the Philippines, however, the idea of having an exciting vacation in a hospitality establishment up in the mountains is relatively new. Most Filipinos are accustomed to equate vacations with beaches, trips to Disneyland, or trips to air-conditioned shopping malls anyway, which can be quite boring in the long run. But with more and more folks embracing the idea of going somewhere less-trodden but exciting and unique, the popularity of mountain resorts has exponentially increased nowadays.

Mambajao, Camiguin: White Island Sandbar

camiguinboat

White Island Sandbar is always included in every traveler’s and tour company’s bucket list because of the serenity and calmness the island offers. Views of the sunrise and sunset are best captured in the White Island because of the addition of the Mt. Hibok-Hibok on the background; making one realize how rich The Philippines has been blessed with natural resources.
